When Jeep brought out the four-door Wrangler Unlimited in 2006 a lot of people wondered what took them so long. It certainly seems like a natural evolution for Jeep’s core vehicle to offer room for five adults and class-leading off-road capability. The Unlimited is no-less versatile than the original Wrangler, featuring power windows and available plug in/out capability that allows the doors to be easily removed. Rear doors open a full 90 degrees, providing an opening that’s 30.5-inches wide. Find out more about the 2010 Wrangler Unlimited at Jeep Middletown.
There’s a new soft top for 2010, which includes a sun roof and full top-down capability. The new top has been redesigned so it can be opened and closed within minutes and removal has been simplified. The hard top is a three-piece modular that provides more options for open-air driving. Fog lamps and tow hooks are standard, along with a compass and outside temperature display. Powering the 2010 Unlimited is a 3.8-liter, V-6 engine producing 202 horsepower and 237 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox or buyers can opt for a four-speed automatic. Sport and Sahara models come with a part-time, two-speed transfer case and there’s an optional locking, limited-slip rear differential. The Rubicon model adds even more off-road capability with a beefier, two-speed transfer case, electric axle lockers, an electronic front sway-bar disconnect and 32-inch off-road tires. Approach and departure angles are 44.6 and 40.6 degrees respectively.
Despite the rugged capabilities, the 2010 Wrangler Unlimited can be had with several refinements, including leather seats, navigation, Bluetooth cell phone connectivity, six-disc stereo, MP3 player and Sirius Satellite Radio. Visit Jeep Waterbury and for the whole 2010 Wrangler Unlimited story.
