2011 Jeep Wrangler

Wrangler continues its heritage as the quintessential off-road vehicle while adding some creature comforts for 2011. Given how purposely bare-bones the Wrangler has always been, some of these additions might sound like luxury items when it comes to building a vehicle that can negotiate tough, off-road terrain.

Improvements to ergonomics and upgraded materials, however, are always welcome. A lockable storage bin in the center console, improvements to the center-stack controls and heated seats and heated power mirrors are purposeful additions. Automatic climate control and larger windows for enhanced visibility are worthy enhancements also. For more information on the 2011 Jeep Wrangler, visit Bristol Jeep or Jeep Bristol.

Steering wheel audio, cruise and telephone controls are more in keeping with compromises to make the Wrangler easier to live with as a daily driver, as the optional media capability’s USB and Bluetooth audio connections. Additional 12V accessory outlets have been added along with a 115V AC outlet. Additional acoustic treatment has been added to cut interior noise. Stability control is standard and has three settings: fully on, fully off and partial on, allowing for the right setting for the terrain. Hill-start assist and trailer sway control are also standard. As in the past, Wrangler is available with full-framed or half doors, hard and soft tops, and still features a fold-down windshield. 2012 Jeep Wrangler Pickup

While the name might not be Wrangler Pickup officially, it’s been reported that Jeep plan on bringing a pickup version of the Wrangler out in the third quarter of 2011 as a 2012 model, according to a report on PickupTrucks.com.

Jeep has teased this idea before, having shown a extended-cab concept called the Jeep Gladiator in 2005 at the Detroit auto show and the standard-cab style Jeep JT in 2007 at SEMA, the massive, annual after-market accessories show. Find out more about current and upcoming Jeep Wrangler models at Jeep dealers Hartford or Jeep dealership Hartford or Jeep Hartford.

The JT was built on the standard Wrangler platform with a short bed and the 3.8-liter V-6, while the Gladiator was built with a 3.8-liter, inline-four cylinder diesel engine and was built on the extended platform used for the Wrangler Unlimited four-door. Gladiator’s bed length could be extended to eight feet with the tailgate lowered. Visit Jeep dealers Hartford or Jeep dealership Hartford or Jeep Hartford to learn more about current and upcoming Jeep models.

Whether or not the bed length can be extended to hold a sheet of plywood seems less important to the target market than the vehicle’s combination of off-road ability with enough cargo capacity for the needs of dirt-bikers, sportsman and others who need to haul stuff way off the beaten track. Jeep dealers Hartford or Jeep dealership Hartford or Jeep Hartford has more details about current and upcoming Jeep models.

2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited

When Jeep brought out the four-door Wrangler Unlimited in 2006 a lot of people wondered what took them so long. It certainly seems like a natural evolution for Jeep’s core vehicle to offer room for five adults and class-leading off-road capability. Rear doors open a full 90 degrees, providing an opening that’s 30.5-inches wide. Find out more about the 2010 Wrangler Unlimited at Jeep Middletown.

There’s a new soft top for 2010, which includes a sun roof and full top-down capability. The new top has been redesigned so it can be opened and closed within minutes and removal has been simplified. The hard top is a three-piece modular that provides more options for open-air driving. Fog lamps and tow hooks are standard, along with a compass and outside temperature display. To learn about more comfort and convenience options, visit Jeep Waterbury.

Powering the 2010 Unlimited is a 3.8-liter, V-6 engine producing 202 horsepower and 237 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to a standard six-speed manual gearbox or buyers can opt for a four-speed automatic. Sport and Sahara models come with a part-time, two-speed transfer case and there’s an optional locking, limited-slip rear differential. Jeep Middletown has all the details of the 2010 Wrangler Unlimited.

The Rubicon model adds even more off-road capability with a beefier, two-speed transfer case, electric axle lockers, an electronic front sway-bar disconnect and 32-inch off-road tires. Approach and departure angles are 44.6 and 40.6 degrees respectively.

Despite the rugged capabilities, the 2010 Wrangler Unlimited can be had with several refinements, including leather seats, navigation, Bluetooth cell phone connectivity, six-disc stereo, MP3 player and Sirius Satellite Radio. Visit Jeep Waterbury and for the whole 2010 Wrangler Unlimited story.
